dc.description.abstract The study aimed at finding out the relationship between turnover intentions and employee engagement among employees of Makerere University. The study adopted a quantitative study design which was correlation in nature with a population of 66 employees. Simple random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 52 respondents from the population. Data was collected from respondents using self-administered standard questionnaire and entered in the computer for analysis through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 23. Descriptive statistics showed that there more females (57.7%) compared to males (42.3%), majority of participants were in the group of 31-40 years (59.6%). Results from percentages indicated there are high levels of employee turnover intentions (59.6%), and high levels of employee engagement ((92.3%). Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (r) further indicated that there was a significant negative relationship between employee turnover intentions and employee engagement, (r= -.663**, p=.000<0.01). Therefore, the present study provides a basis and implications for further investigation on the levels of turnover intentions, employee engagement and relationship between turnover intentions and employee engagement among employees in different institutions. It was recommended that the management of Makerere University, needs to design policies that encourage employees in order to enhance job engagement of employees and reduce on their turnover intentions. en_US
