dc.description.abstract The idea of using aerial base stations has proved to be a promising solution in improvement of wireless mobile communication to assist the macro base stations(BSs). This project is about obtaining an optimum location of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) in order to enhance coverage in a network. A good and thorough review of existing literature showed that this had been successfully discovered for a single UAV in a network. However, for multiple UAVs, interference was their challenge. The task therefore at hand was to determine a location that provides minimal interference with multiple UAVs. I first observed the coverage in a network containing only macro base stations(BSs) by setting a SIR threshold and areas whose SIR was below it was considered to have low coverage. A network model with both UAVs and macro BSs is designed. I then examined different parameters like UAV height, density and path loss exponent to determine their effect on the coverage probability. MATLAB was used to simulate these results and compare them with existing analytical results that were obtained using mathematical expressions. Results obtained show that the above parameters are vital in coverage of a network. Therefore having the proper conditions of UAV height , density and pathloss exponent gives a better coverage in a network. en_US
