Abstract
This invitro experiment was conducted to test the antibacterial activity of different crude aloe vera extracts on dental flora. A single colony from the plated oral sample media, was picked and cultured in broth media. The antimicrobial activity of the methanol and aqueous aloe vera extracts was determined using agar well diffusion method. The study proved that the aqueous extract was more effective than the methanol extract. The variations in antimicrobial activity of tested aloe vera extracts were compared with equal concentrations of ciprofloxacin and the bacteriostatic activity of the extracts was observed only at a high concentration of the aloe vera powder(0.05g/ml).
