Sexual assertiveness, sexual fear, sexual motivation and risky sexual behavior

Abstract
The study examined the relationship between sexual assertiveness, sexual fear, and sexual motivation and risky sexual behavior among Makerere students. The study adopted a cross-sectional research design with attempt to collect data at a specific point in time by using the Snells’s self-administered questionnaire to 80 students. The data analysis was as follows, the study findings show that; there is no significant relationship between sexual assertiveness and risk sexual behavior, there is a significant relationship between sexual fear and risky sexual behavior and that there is a significant relationship between sexual motivation and risky sexual behavior. The researcher concluded that students who are sexually assertive do not necessarily get involved in risky sexual behaviors, however students with sexual fear and sexually motivated are more likely get involved in risky sexual behaviors. Universities in Uganda should aim at ensuring proper provision of sexual talks to equip students with versed knowledge on matters related to sexual control and involvement.
