Abstract
Background: Stress is a universal and common challenge to organization and employee productivity, and organizations have to deal with stress. Bank workers are among the group of workers under a great deal of stress due to many stressors. This study aimed to determine the job stress among employees of Stanbic Banks in Makerere University. Method: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study among employees of Stanbic Bank. This study used self-answered questionnaires to interview a total of 28 employees. Collected data was entered and cleaned in Microsoft excel 2016 and exported to SPSS (Version 21) for further analyses. Descriptive analysis was done. Results: This study interviewed a total of 28 employees of Stanbic bank of Makerere university. 67.86% of the participants were females and 42.86% of the participants belonged to the age group 31-40 years. We found that the major causes of stress among employees of Stanbic Bank is fatigue (42.86%) and poor leadership and team management (42.86%). Conclusion: We found that the major causes of stress among employees of Stanbic Bank is fatigue and poor leadership and team management.
