dc.description.abstract The increasing demand for indoor thermal comfort, especially in regions experiencing rising temperatures such as Uganda, has intensified the need for efficient, affordable, and user-friendly air cooling systems. This project presents the design and construction of an automatic air cooler fan that intelligently adjusts its speed based on ambient temperature variations. Unlike conventional fans that require manual operation, the developed system integrates a temperature sensor and a microcontroller to monitor real-time room temperature and automatically regulate the fan’s speed accordingly. The system enhances user convenience, conserves energy, and ensures a consistently comfortable environment without manual intervention. The prototype uses components such as an LM35 temperature sensor, a microcontroller (Arduino Uno), a DC fan, and a display unit. Upon testing, the fan exhibited efficient responsiveness to varying temperature conditions, validating its effectiveness for domestic and small-scale commercial use. This innovation demonstrates the potential of microcontroller-based automation in improving everyday electrical appliances and promoting sustainable energy use. The project aligns with modern trends in smart home technology and energy efficiency, offering practical benefits to users in both urban and rural settings. en_US
