dc.description.abstract Majority of the people in Uganda carryout farming in villages and reside in towns. Thus, for some of these farmers, practice livestock farming as a secondary source of income. Farmers therefore have to move to their farms daily, weekly and others on weekend which is costly in time of transport and time.in addition it is difficult for these farm owners to monitor the daily activities on their farms. The lack of sufficient information regarding the farm’s daily activities makes it difficult to plan, track and anticipate outputs on the farm. The development of Livestock monitoring system would benefit farm owners by being able to monitor the daily activities by receives notification on every activity that takes place at the farm in their absence. Therefore, the overall objective was to develop a mobile-based Livestock Monitoring System using system development lifecycle (SDLC). Data was collected using interviews and questionnaires from both farm owners and managers on two visited farms based in Uganda. We used Laravel and flutter to develop the system. The farm manager is able to add in data in the system such as milk collected, total number of animals at the farm, insemination records and the farm owner is able to view all the activities at the farm by receiving notifications on his phone. en_US
