Web-based student question bank

Abstract

The project report provides a comprehensive study of the development and implementation of a web-based student question bank. The project aimed to aid students especially candidates in preparation for examinations conducted by UNEB, by providing easy access to past paper questions. The project began with a thorough analysis of existing similar systems especially ones that cover local curriculum content. The identified problems were lack of corresponding answers to the questions, poor organisation of resources, no personalised study experience and lack of user-friendly interfaces. Most of the systems that purely provided past papers and questions covered international and foreign programmes which may not be relevant to Ugandan pupils and students The group employed a systematic research methodology and design approach. This was done by distributing questionnaires in order to gather the user requirements and aid in how the system will be developed and what features to incorporate. Testing was done to verify if the system was working as intended As such, the result was a web-based system that contains questions from UNEB past papers along with solutions answers and explanations for self-assessment, user-access control, filtering out irrelevant content based on what the student studies and the capability to create their own custom sets of questions and download them.
