dc.description.abstract The study aimed at designing a Library User Education Program for Kamuli College School Library (KCS Library) Services. The objectives of the study were to: find out the methods of providing User Education within Kamuli College School Library, to find out the challenges of providing User Education within Kamuli College School Library, to establish the requirements for a User Education within Kamuli College School Library and to design a User Education for Kamuli College School Library. The study employed a case study research design with a qualitative research approach to obtain data from the respondents. The questionnaires, interview guide, document review guide and observation guides were used in data collection necessary for designing a Library User Education for Kamuli College School Library. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 38 students, 10 teachers and 2 librarians from Kamuli College who participated in the study. The research findings from the study established that; status of library use education within Kamuli College School Library which include; library notice board word of mouth, use of the website and orientation program to conduct library user education. Kamuli College School library staff face a number of challenges while creating awareness of the available library resources and services to the users of the library and these include; inadequate funds, lack of computers, inadequate information materials, and small reading space. The study concluded that there was need to design a Library User Education for Kamuli College School Library. The major recommendation was Kamuli College should implement the proposed user education program for KCSL resources and services. The other recommendations were; use of an appropriate user education method, involvement of different school library users in creating awareness about library services, improving the quality library services, training and educating the library users, organizing events, and setting up a social media network. en_US
