Laundry management mobile application

Abstract

Laundry Management Mobile Application (Laundry Guy) is a mobile application intended to ease the management of laundry. This application runs on android mobile devices using android versions from 4.4 to the current one. Currently, most laundry businesses in Nakawa division of Kampala district either use the manual or file-based approach of managing customer records. The process of scheduling the pickup and delivery of laundry is not very convenient with the existing laundry management systems in place since customers mostly walk in to personally deliver their laundry at laundry shops there the laundry management mobile application seeks to ease the scheduling of pick-up and delivery of laundry to the customer’s convenience. This will be aide using a geo locator provided by google maps. The Laundry Management Mobile Application seeks to ease the management of customer data making it easier to capture, store, retrieve and update customer data as well as cross reference the data for instance if there is a repeat customer, there is no need to recapture their data which avoids redundancy of data. Emphasis is on use of database management systems to stream line customer data.Laundry businesses and customers face limited payment options predominantly cash and limited use of mobile money which may not be convenient for many customers and laundry businesses. The Laundry Management Mobile Application also known as the Laundry Guy provides a range of payment options which were previously not available to most customer sand laundry businesses as well. These options include: PayPal, Credit Cards, Debit Cards and Mobile Money on top of the commonly used cash option.The Laundry management mobile application seeks to improve the management of laundry for both laundry businesses by providing functionalities not present or under-utilized
