dc.description.abstract The study aimed finding out the relationship between domestic violence, stress, and depression among school going children. The study adopted a quantitative study design which was correlation in nature with a population of 80 students. Simple random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 66 respondents from the population. Data was collected from respondents using self-administered standard questionnaire and entered in the computer for analysis through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 23. Descriptive statistics showed that (75.8 %) of the respondents were female and (24.2%) were male, majority were in age group 15-17 years (62.1%). Results from Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (r) further indicated that there was a significant positive relationship between domestic violence and stress (r= .401**, p=.001). Results further indicate that there was a significant positive relationship between stress and depression (r= .886**, p=.000), as well as domestic violence and depression (r= .350**, p=.004). Therefore, the present study provides a basis and implications for further investigation on relationship between domestic violence, stress and depression among school going children in different areas in Uganda. It was recommended that the school administration to needs to ensure that they get in touch with local authorities and support parents reduce on domestic violence. This is possible through sensitizing parents about the dangers of domestic violence and conducting group counseling to parents. en_US
