Parental separation, coping and mental health problems among adolescents

Abstract

The dissertation focuses on the relationship among three variables which are parental separation, coping and mental health among urban adolescents. From the cited literature in line with three objectives which were to find out if there is a relationship between parental separation and coping, parental separation and mental health problems and, coping and mental health problems among urban adolescents three hypothesis were drawn. Tools were selected to measure for a significant relationship among the three variables. The results found include the following; a significant relationship between coping and mental health among urban adolescents was proved and on the other hand it was drawn that there is no significant relationship between parental separation and coping, and mental health problems and parental separation among urban adolescents. According to the results made, conclusions and recommendations are also discussed
