dc.description.abstract This research project focused on designing an Automated Biodata Registration System (ABRS) for registration of new participants in the social equity program at Junior Achievement Uganda (JAU). This project based on the following objectives: to find out the different types of bio data managed at Junior Achievement Uganda, to identify the challenges associated with the current system used for bio-data registration at the organization, to suggest strategies to address the identified challenges and designing an automated bio-data registration system for new participants in the social equity program at Junior Achievement Uganda. This project based on a case study design which involved the use of a qualitative research approach. Tools like an interview guide, document analysis guide and observation guide were used for data collection from four (4) respondents. Some of the biodata captured included personal biodata, professional, interests and hobbies and this information is captured on paper. Some of the challenges revealed by the findings of this research project were human errors, high costs of working materials, difficulties in retrieval of participant’s data. Some of the strategies that can be put in place include having an electronic system in place to manage the bio data registration process and management of the information generated during that process. This research project recommended that there should be an electronic system in place to help with the registration process, tight security measures to ensure data integrity and occasionally training staff to enhance their technical and information management skills. en_US
