dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the Perception of the Effects of HIV/AIDS and individuals with HIV/AIDS while they are studying at Makerere University. This study used the concept of perception to capture students attitudes, knowledge, and feelings towards HIV/AIDS and individuals with HIV/AIDS. This study is part of the larger research project concerning HIV/AIDS carried out at Makerere University. The research objectives were; (a) To establish the knowledge of HIV among students (b) To establish the Perception of the Effects of HIV/AIDS. The study employed a qualitative research design to investigate the Perception of the Effects of HIV/AIDS and individuals with HIV/AIDS. The researcher adopted semi structured interviews interviewing one person at a time, two specific in depth focus group discussions and interview with a health worker were applied so as to investigate the Perception of the effects of HIV among students at Makerere School of Psychology. The researcher also conducted face to face interviews in order to obtain enough information to answer the research problem. en_US
