dc.description.abstract This study sought to establish the relationship between parental separation, coping, and mental health problems among urban adolescents. It was conducted around Kampala and Wakiso district including both male and female respondents between ages of 12 and 19 years particularly from Kitende S.S.S for data collection. A non-random purposive method of sampling was used specifically targeting those respondents that fulfilled the criteria of coming from broken families. The research used self-administered questionnaires to collect Data. A structured questionnaire was constructed and included three sections: A, B and C. Section A: Contained Bio Data about the respondent, Section B measured coping skills in adolescents using COPE inventory (Carver, C. S, 2013) with a validity of 0.74 and a reliability of 0.76 while Section C measured mental health wellbeing using Warmick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale (WEMWBS), with validity of 0.73 and reliability of 0.50 Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was used for data analysis.
