| dc.description.abstract | This study discusses Imagery in folktales, how they are used and their effectiveness on the audience most especially the young generation. I therefore studied eight folktales using the literary aspect ‘imagery’ putting empharsis on all the forms of imagery. In my research study, I found out that when imagery is used in folktales normally, empharsis is mostly centered on visual and auditory forms, less attention is given to the other forms that’s to say ; Organic, Kinesthetic, Gustatory, Tactile and Olfactory forms and yet all these forms help to bring out the message and intended meaning to the audience. As listeners /audience, we are able to draw life lessons that shape the young ones to fit in the society morally. This is why it’s important for all generations to learn more of the traditional folktales inorder to get the meaning and be able to learn the values of folktales in Buganda culture. | en_US |
