Abstract
Saw dust is a lignocellulose material mainly regarded as a waste from wood cutting here in Uganda. A given percentage of the saw dust is used in poultry as a bed layer but only a small percentage is used leaving a significant value as waste. Lignocellulose materials mainly contain a mixture of carbohydrates polymers (cellulose and hemicellulose), lignin, extractives and ashes.
