dc.description.abstract A clap switch is an electronic device that can control light appliances by users clap action. The main advantage of this type of technology is that it is mainly helpful for a mobility impaired person. In Uganda today, Uganda National Bureau of Statistics (UBOS, 2018) report showed that 12.4% of the Ugandan population lives with disability hence a development concern. According to Beatrice Nabulime Kaggya, persons with disabilities are among the most neglected groups of people in policy domain and public sphere. Living with informality is challenging and is even harder if you have a mobility impairment. Traditional additive products such as wheel chair are essential to enable people to travel. (G Barbareschi, 2020). However, there is need for more assistive technology and that's why I saw the need to design a 9 way clap switch circuit as one of the assistive technologies which can enable mobility impaired people switch ON and OFF electrical appliances without moving off their chairs en_US
