dc.description.abstract This research was mainly conducted to investigate and show the form and effectiveness of imagery in the Ateso songs. From this research it was ascertained that songs do not play just a mere role of entertainment but also are used to pass on lessons to community, pinpoint out the major ideas and themes that society such as polygamy, position of women in society, and these ideas are seen in the songs contained in this research. en_US
