Evaluation of records management system at Uganda College of Commerce Tororo

Abstract

The topic of the study is evaluation of records management system at Uganda College of commerce Tororo. The study was carried out in Tororo District Eastern Uganda. The objectives of the study was to find out the types of records generated and kept at UCCT.To and the records included financial record, legal records, Administration.to examine the records management system at UCCT,To find out the challenges facing the existing records management system at UCCT,To propose the solutions for improving the efficiency and efficiency and effectiveness of records management system .The research employed qualitative research design. This is the type of research that deals in non-numerical analysis of data. The key findings of the research found out that The formats of records included paper based records and electronic records. The major activities in the college include financial activities, welfare,the college offers programme like accounting ,procurement and logistics,National secretarial studies,medical records.the college has the records management system are financial records,Academic records and the Human resource management .The challenges faced by the institution in managing its records include limited space in the registry, slow internet when retrieving electronic records such as emails, limited funding to the records management department at the college .The recommendation by the researcher to the records management system . The system the registry with qualified records management,the college should install strong internet connection.
