dc.description.abstract Water consumption and monitoring are crucial for sustainable living and environmental protection. In many regions, including urban and rural areas, institutions of learning like Universities, monitoring and managing water consumption effectively remains a significant problem posing a challenge of water wastage, too much cost of water. This report presents a comprehensive solution in the form of a Water Consumption Monitoring and Control System, designed to optimize water usage and reduce wastage, and save costs. The system is composed of a smart water flow sensor, a central control unit, and an intuitive mobile application. The water flow sensor collects real-time data on water usage, which is transmitted to the control unit for processing and analysis. The mobile application provides users with detailed visualizations of their water consumption patterns, customizable consumption goals, and alerts for excessive usage or potential leaks. Additionally, the system offers remote control features, allowing users to shut off the water supply when necessary. A study by the team was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the system in institutions, and residential settings, demonstrating its potential to significantly reduce water wastage, reduce costs, and promote sustainable water use practices. en_US
