Abstract
Worldwide, renewable-energy supply systems depend on Photo-voltaic cells and
since sunlight is abundantly available, this project will help Ugandans and other who
face a problem of low solar power production efficiency levels due to environmental
and tech-nical inconveniences . In this project different factors that affect solar power
production efficiency are to be examined.
Chapter one contains the introduction to solar energy. Chapter two contains the
litera-ture review which includes the previous developments in the solar power
efficiencies. Chapter three contains the materials and methodology. Chapter four
contains the results and discussion while the work was concluded in chapter five.
The main objective of the project was to obtain maximum solar power production so
to increase the efficiency. This was done considering two solar panels with one fixed
and one adjustable mounting exposed to the same conditions of sunshine in a day and
connected to batteries of the same charge in the morning. It was realized that the adjustable
solar panel mount provides the maximum solar power for the day and hence
more efficient. Further more it was observed that high humidity levels reduce the
voltage levels obtained from the solar panel and therefore more efficient mono
