dc.description.abstract A process to obtain high purity isoamyl alcohol from fusel oil was designed by drawing block and process flow diagrams, simulation using CHEMCAD software.The purity of isoamyl alcohol obtained was 99.5%. Sizing of equipment was done, distillation column 1 required 16 actual stages while distillation column 2 required 36. Pumps with power of 19.3W, 40.4W and 42.2W were required. The estimated capital cost of the plant was 82,686 USD. en_US
