dc.description.abstract This study analysed imagery and the role of women in Ganda proverbs. It talked about how women were treated and looked at among the Baganda specifically in proverbs. These proverbs aimed at impacting morals to the young girls of Buganda, teaching the young people especially the girls that they should respect their husbands . The study was carried out in Wakiso district found in the central part of Uganda. Th e study was in Ndejje Kanaba village in Ndejje subcounty which was chosen as a representative of the whole Ganda region. Data was collected from the different respondents through interviews and observations . In the study it was found out that the Ganda society has various proverbs which are believed and accepted by the society . It was found out that the proverbs have various morals to impact into the people of Buganda. The proverbs are related to real life experiences. en_US
