dc.description.abstract This study explores patriarchy in selected Sabiny proverbs. Through the analysis of 50 Kupsabiny proverbs, I discovered that proverbs were mainly used by the elders and the use of proverbs by the young generation is very low due to various reasons for example, some schools have completely refused the use of local languages by students.in as much as I intend to research the content of proverbs, this study discovers that a large number of students do not know their local languages and this makes it difficult for them to use and understand proverbs that are usually in Kupsabiny. Proverbs are still relevant to the people of Sebei because of their themes and literariness. en_US
