| dc.description.abstract | This report presents aimed at the role of ICOLEW Program in the financial literacy and livelihoods of adults aged 20-50 years in Lunyerere village, Mpigi District focusing on the content derivation, methods of content delivery, competence of the facilitators and challenges faced by the program. The report was qualitatively developed using phenomenology as the research design to understand the lived experiences of the participants as far as ICOLEW is concerned. During the study, it was evident that the content used to teach the participants had little participation of the learners in developing the content thus limiting the importance of learning for the learners. In addition, the methods of content delivery were largely top-down, however mixed with other action based strategies to make learning meaningful for the learners. It was also noted that the competence of the facilitators was lacking. This calls for employment of professional and competent facilitators to conduct the teaching and learning of adults for better results out of the programs. Also the learners should be involved from the onset right away from situation analysis, needs assessment survey in generating content through implementation, monitoring and evaluation stages respectively. | en_US |
