dc.description.abstract The study sought to investigate the relationship between personality traits, and job performance among students at Makerere University. The study was intending to achieve the following objectives; to examine the relationship between extraversion and job performance, to examine the relationship between agreeableness and job performance and the relationship between neuroticism and job performance. A correlational study design was used in the study to establish the relationship between personality traits and job performance among employees of All in Trade Limited. The study used a sample of 52 respondents. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaire and later analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Scientists. Results from descriptive statistics showed that majority were female respondents (78.8%), majority were between 20-30 years (55.8%). Furthermore, results indicate that there was significant positive relationship between extraversion and job performance (r= .432**, p=.003), as well as agreeableness and job performance (r= 362**, p=.001). However, results show that there was a negative significant relationship between neuroticism and performance (r= .631**, p=.002). Therefore, the present study provides a basis and implications for further investigation on relationship between personality traits, and job performance among employee’s different organizations in Uganda. It is recommended that the management of All in Trade Limited needs to design policies of identifying the personality types of employees before recruiting them. This may help in limiting the negative consequences of neurotic employees who may affect the performance of the organization. en_US
