Circulation system in Gulu University main library, Uganda

Abstract

This project involves the objective of the project is to design a circulation system for Gulu University Library that will increase the efficiency in the circulation processes. The background of the project that is, the contextual and the conceptual background. The literature reviewed from various articles of the previous writings, data collection methods which were; questionnaires, observation guide, interview and document review. In conclusion, the project writing was a useful experience. I have found out what my strengths and weaknesses are; I gained new knowledge and skills and met many new people. I achieved many of my learning goals, however for some of the conditions did not permit me to achieve them as I wanted. The financing of projects is an important factor and forces to be flexible in attitude and approach. I learned more about circulation processes. There is still a lot to discover and research methods can be improved. At last this project writing has given me new insights and motivation to pursue a career in library and information science. To prepare myself for my future career I can improve several things. I can work on my communication skills so that I am able to present and express myself more confidently. I could perform certain tasks in research better if I have more experience in the research methodologies applied in project studies.
