dc.description.abstract This research project explores the critical role of formalin (formaldehyde) as a preservative in CliniSafe liquid detergent, manufactured by Joint Health Care (JHC). JHC, an extension of Joint Medical Stores (JMS) established in 2020, addresses high demands for healthcare products amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The study aimed to evaluate formalin’s effectiveness in maintaining the stability and performance of CliniSafe liquid detergent. A comparative analysis was conducted using two production tanks: one with formalin and one without. Both tanks followed identical production procedures, with formalin added to one batch only. Over a four-month period, the detergent’s consistency, color stability, and phase separation were assessed. The results demonstrated that the detergent containing formalin retained consistent viscosity, color, and homogeneity, while the detergent without formalin exhibited phase separation and decreased stability. The findings underline formalin’s effectiveness in preserving product stability and preventing degradation. The study concludes that formalin is essential for maintaining the integrity of CliniSafe liquid detergent, but emphasizes the need for careful handling due to safety concerns. Recommendations include optimizing formalin concentration, exploring alternative preservatives, and developing clear safety protocols to ensure user safety and regulatory compliance. en_US
