dc.description.abstract The main purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between happiness and engagement of employees Using a case study of secondary teachers in Kampala district. The objectives included; to examine the levels of happiness among secondary school teachers, to determine the level of employee engagement among secondary school teachers and to establish the relationship between happiness and engagement of secondary school teachers in Kampala. The study used the correlation research design. The study covered a sample of 83 teachers, who were selected using simple random sampling technique from a sample of four secondary schools. Questionnaires were used to collect data from the respondents and data was analyzed using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 23 where tables with frequencies and percentages were developed for easy data presentation. The results on level of employee happiness revealed that the majority of the teachers were moderately high on happiness and moderately high on engagement. Overall, there was a positive significant relationship between level of employee happiness and engagement among Kampala secondary school teachers. The study concluded that happiness of the secondary teachers is a great resource to the schools because it encourages engagement. en_US
