Abstract
The study was carried out at Centenary Bank Records Centre. The research was aimed at analyzing record keeping practices at Centenary Bank Records Centre. The main Objective was to analyze record keeping practices at Centenary Bank Records Centre with a view of improving record keeping at the bank.
The study targeted a population of ten (10) people which is the total number of staff in the records Centre. Using purposive sampling method, a sample size of five (5) respondents was used and these include; the manager records and information Unit (1), the supervisor records and information Unit (1), records officer (1), records assistants (2).
The researcher used face to face interview with administration and records staff to get first-hand information from the respondents together with the observation method to supplement on the information gathered by interviews
According to the study results, records at Centenary Bank are stored mainly in boxes and some drawers in senior staff offices and in computers
The researcher therefore reached to conclude that the management of records at Centenary Bank needs radical and professional step by step initiatives and strategies to build an accepted change with digitization as a drive to improvement
