Abstract
This study examines the intersection of intimate partner violence and HIV among women in Kakoba division Mbarara, focusing mainly on the risk factors, response mechanisms and prevention and care interventions. A comprehensive review of existing literature and analysis of empirical data reveal that IPV is a significant concern for HIV-positive women. The study identifies three key important risk factors to be gender inequality, social economic status and HIV virus, highlighting responses made by these women and interventions which integrate HIV and IPV prevention programs. The findings have important implications on the society, and policy for better service delivery in order to address the complex needs of HIV-positive women experiencing IPV
