dc.description.abstract This research study was undertaken to investigate the social norms that drive sexual violence against girls in Apetai sub-county. This was to address the gap in literature concerning social norms driving sexual violence against girls. The study sought to identify the social norms, social sanctions and the key influencers who drive sexual violence against girls in Apetai sub-county. The study adopted a qualitative design which allows collection of information on expectations that members of the group hold of one another In data collection, we used 10 FGDs with teachers and community members such as the men and women, 15 In-depth Interview for female students or pupils and girls between the ages of 14 and 17 years old and 5 interviews with Local council leaders, Cultural leaders, Para Social Workers, religious leaders, Community Development Officer as Key Informants. en_US
