dc.description.abstract This proposal is about assessing the end-of-life handling of solar panels and batteries in Uganda. Solar panels are a fast-growing source of renewable energy that is vital to the world’s effort to reduce the use of fossil fuels. However, the increasing use of solar panels and batteries in the renewable energy sector has raised concerns about their end-of-life handling practices. This assessment evaluated the current practices, regulations, market opportunities, and challenges associated with the disposal, recycling, and reuse of solar panels and batteries. The study reviewed existing regulations and policies related to end-of-life management of these products and identified potential environmental and health risks and challenges associated with their poor handling effects. The assessment explored innovative technologies and strategies for proper disposal, recycling, and reuse practices applicable in the end-of-life handling of solar panels and batteries. The findings of this assessment provided insights into the proper sustainability of solar energy systems which could be taken up by policymakers, industry stakeholders, and consumers for responsible end-oflife management of solar panels and batteries in the country. en_US
