dc.description.abstract This research project delves into the intricate realm of imagery within a selection of selected Acholi folktales. With an emphasis on cultural preservation and literary analysis of selected Acholi folktales, this study, through the objectives, seeks to unravel the significance of visual language in conveying themes, values, andthe artistic usage of the Acholi language in these selected Acholi folktales. Through a meticulous examination of linguistic devices, symbolism, metaphors, and vivid descriptions, the research aims to shed light on how imagery contributes to the richness of the tales’ narrative tapestry.By exploring the intricate interplay between verbal and visual elements, this project aims to provide a deeper understanding of the cultural nuances and storytelling traditions of the Acholi people. The project as well contributes to the broader field of folk narrative analysis and preservation. Thisstudy incorporated the works of prominent scholars like Ruth Finnegan, Okot p’Bitek, Isodore Okpewho, Nelson Okumu and many others whose ideas guided this project. The information was gathered through questions and answer approach with the natives of Acholi communities. This is because some objective of the research embarked on understanding the artistic use of the Acholi language during oral performance. The main hypothetical scenario of the research is to convey some of the images present during oral narratives and their impacts to society and generation. en_US
