dc.description.abstract During the manufacturing process of cement, it is critical that the cement produced is of proper quality to prevent cracks and low concrete strength. This report discusses all the factors which affect the quality of cement other than its chemical composition together with the equipment and parameters used to control cement quality in a closed circuit grinding system. Basing on cement strength which is the most important attribute, the report illustrates how cement quality can be improved by parameter optimization. It explores the various optimization techniques focusing mainly on particle swarm optimization which was used to maximize the cement strength. Soft wares like Minitab, MATLAB and Microsoft excel were also used in order to come up with the best results. en_US
