dc.description.abstractThis research introduces the relevance of marketing to the sale of paintings in Kampala. The study was about exploring the marketing of paintings in Kampala art galleries, a case study of Makerere University art gallery and it was based on four objectives.i.e to explore the pricing techniques used in the sale of paintings in Makerere University art Gallery, to find out the relationship between marketing activities and gallery sales in Makerere University gallery and Kampala in general, to establish the relevance of marketing in art activities in Kampala, to identify forms of paintings sold in Kampala art galleries. The research design used in this study was cross sectional and it was used in order to get information that would be generalized to the rest of the population within the defined boundaries. This study was carried out in a qualitative, descriptive and analytical manner. The area of study was Makerere art gallery and a few other galleries which include Turifanya, Nomo, and Banada galleries. The collected data after being edited, arranged and organized was the analyzed and some of it entered in table illustration, while the other summarized in paragraphs and photographic backups.en_US
