This report covers chapters one up to five with chapter one presenting the background of the study, statement of the problem, main objective of the study, specific objectives of the study, research questions, scope and the significance of the study. The study was guided by four objectives as shown in the chapter on. The study aimed at assessing the records management practices at CUFH-N. Chapter two indicates the literature review from the relevant literature. The report all also covers methodology chapter, data analysis and presentation and summary of findings, conclusions and recommendations. Records management practices was defined as the methods that are used in systematically controlling the flow of records from the time of creation or receipt until their ultimate disposal as archives. From the findings of the study, it was revealed that the records management practices used at CUFH-N include; file registration, file classification, sorting and file numbering. From the researcher’s conclusion, the records management practices in place are not followed because of the available challenges encountered in managing records. CUFH-N has never appraised its records during the disposition stage ever since it was established instead records are piled in one room which is no longer accessible as of now. It was recommended that CUFH-N should come up with a records management policy that will be accompanied by the records retention and disposal schedule to avoid piling up of records and determine records of enduring value for permanent preservation and disposal of records that have lost value.en_US
