    Guidelines for improving the utilization of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTS) in Makerere University School of Public Health Library

    Abstract
    The study aimed at developing Utilization guidelines for Makerere University School of Public Health library. The objectives of the study were; to examine the current status of the Information communication Technology based library services and activities in Makerere University School of Public Health Library, to find out how its Information Communication Technology services are managed, to identify the challenges of utilizing Information Communication and to come up with possible guidelines for improving Information communication Technology utilization in Makerere University School of Public Health Library. Slow connectivity, congestion and inadequate resources were the major challenges to utilization of these facilities for research output amongst Makerere University School of Health Science students. The findings reveal a high level of awareness among the Makerere University School of Public Health librarians about the benefits that could be derived from utilizing ICTs. It is recommended that librarians should be engaged in continuous professional development and digitization facilities and services to be provided. Therefore, the study recommended that the library should come up with ICT Utilization guidelines, the library finances should be increased, the school should employ more librarians and the library space should be increased.
