dc.description.abstractThe practice of human resource management is an important factor in an organization because of its impact on the behavior, response and action of the staff which in turn affect the performance of the organization and aid the achievement of its goals and objective, Onyema, 2014. Job satisfaction is essential to face the dynamic and ever-increasing challenges of maintaining the productivity of the organization by keeping their staff constantly engaged and motivated. This report presents the factors that affect job satisfaction of the food and beverages (F&B) section’s staff in Kampala Serena Hotel with specific objectives of determining the level of job satisfaction and factors impacting job satisfaction. The problem examined was that varied and changing demands of staff put consistent pressure on the employers to satisfy staff needs and to be competitive in the business therefore the study focused on various factors that affect job satisfaction of the food and beverages staff in Kampala Serena hotel The data were collected by using the questionnaire method of data collection and SPSS analysis is utilized. Frequencies and percentages were used to present the results. The study has revealed that level of job satisfaction was high and the factors that determined the level of job satisfaction included favorable working conditions, employee engagement, allowances, tax incentives, working conditions, availability of equipment, external conditions, fellow staff, fringe benefits, security, and prompt payments. It is concluded that the main factors that affect job satisfaction were working conditions and salary, and in order to maintain and attract potential employees, all the factors that affect job satisfaction directly lead to turnover. It is recommended that in order to increase staff job satisfaction, the hotel should improve work conditions payment, maintain proper relationship among employees.en_US
