Both primary data and secondary data was used to collect information, Primary data was collected using questionnaires, observation, and documentary review as instruments. The data collected was edited using SPSS and results interpreted. The results revealed that domestic tourism has increased the generation of revenue from the domestic tourists; it was revealed that „the government generates incomes from domestic tourism that takes place at UWEC. And this income has been instrumental in the promotion of infrastructural development such as roads, schools and hospitals. It was also revealed that the income generating capacity of UWEC was paid directly to UWEC and is between forty million to more than fifty million per year. In addition to the money paid to the site the local people indirectly earn their living through the sale of crafts, fruits and vegetables and traditional clothing. From the findings, it was recommended that, capacity building for the employees to be made to equip employees with administrative skills, especially financial management to reduce unnecessary expenses that limit the development of UWEC, sensitize the community and also organize awareness campaigns to provide information needed by the local people about UWEC. There is also need to increase budget allocation for UWEC.en_US
