An information management system for Sanyu Babies' Home

Abstract

The study aimed at designing an information management system for Sanyu babies' home. The objectives of the study identify the challenges of managing information at Sanyu babies' home, identify the requirements needed for an information management system, design an information management system for Sanyu babies' home. The study employed a case study research design while adopting both qualitative and quantitative research approaches in collecting data. Observation and interview methods of collecting data due to our study. Purposive sampling method was used to select the 4 information managing staffs. The research findings showed that Sanyu babies 'home has 4 staffs that manage their information. The study findings showed that the staff agreed that in the orphanage there is inadequate space and misplacement of information and based on the findings, managing information at Sanyu babies' home are traditional means which exposes a number of challenges faced by the staff that manage information. Therefore, it was found needful to develop n information management system for Sanyu babies 'home. The recommendations for the study were; solicit for more funds to purchase more computers, recruit more staff and experts and establish a records management policy or program.
