| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of the study was to investigate the evolution of sculpture tools and materials used by the students at Margaret trowel school of industrial and fine art.
And guided by the following objectives;
To find out the former tools and materials that were used by sculpture students at MTSIFA in 1990s.
To find out the new tools and materials that sculpture students use at MTSIFA in 2019.
To analyze the factors causing the change in tools and materials used by sculpture students used to use at MTSIFA between 1990s to 2019.
I used historical methods to acquire data for analysis, and for this is a qualitative technique. Historical research studies the meaning of past events in an attempt to interpret the facts and explain the cause of events, and their effect in the present events.
I concluded that; there has been an evolution in sculpture tools and materials at Margaret trowel school of industrial and fine arts. Students have continuously adopted new tools and materials because of their high level of efficiency.
However, there is a challenge of the high cost of the tools and materials, most of these tools are expensive making it hard to afford.
And for the old tools and materials used by students at Margaret trowel school,
these old tools and materials are no longer marketable given the fact it’s hard to work with them, for example Stone, it’s hard to manipulate, therefore students have resorted to the use of new materials for example wax.
Tools like blur, for example when used to cut wood, it will discard the grain and cut in a differ direction, furthermore the evolution is due to,
The growing technologies have caused about the change in the tools and materials used my sculpture students at MTSFA. Given the fact that sculptors
want to produce high quality work, definitely efficient tools and materials are required which are even fast and better as well.
Massive production has also greatly contributed to the evolution of sculpture tools and materials at Margaret trowel school of industrial and fine art.
It was recommended that the use of new sculpture tools and materials, because the tools are efficient and the materials are also user friendly, the materials are easily manipulated and therefore it’s easy to come out with better work.
The tools also are time friendly, given the fact that they are fast, that saves the time of the sculptor. | en_US |
