dc.description.abstractEntrepreneurship globally is considered a key competence for all and promoting it is a central objective by many countries for job creation and competitiveness growth. Therefore, it has been every state’s duty to encourage entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial initiatives among its citizens. The role of entrepreneurial education for economic growth and job creation has been highly emphasized and education has been also emphasized as an element that is needed for determination and reinforcement of entrepreneurship situation and frame in order to finance the development of entrepreneurial skills required by a constantly changing society. However, little was known about the role of these education programs in shaping and influencing individual entrepreneurial mindsets. Therefore, this study intended to examine the role of adult education and training in shaping individual entrepreneurial mindsets with particular reference to The Power Minds Youth Organization (PMYO) in Kasanje sub-county in Wakiso district, in the Central part of Uganda. A qualitative research design was adopted purposely to describe the role of adult education and training in influencing individual entrepreneurial mindset. It also contained some few aspects of quantitative data for the study to explore basic quantitative facts about the impact of the methods used on the different participants with different demographic characteristics. The findings of the study revealed that different programs both short-term and long-term courses are provided to the youths, participatory and interactive training methods like discussion and demonstration are better and more effective for training adults, and adult education and training plays a big role in shaping and influencing individual entrepreneurial mindset. Recommendations were also formulated in relation to the study objectives and to different departments like the facilitators, the government and the organization. These included; certification of learners upon completion of the program, providing startup capital and employment opportunities to the graduates, use of participatory approaches like discussions for training learners and the government to encourage investors to continue investing into entrepreneurship education.en_US
