A field research experiment was carried out for one rainy seasons at Makerere University Agricultural Research Institute Kabanyolo (MUARIK) located in central region of Uganda. The study was carryout to evaluate the yield performances of maize crops using different recently manufactured foliar fertilizers and inorganic NPK fertilizer. The specific objectives of the study was to determine the difference in effect of different fertilizers on yield of maize under rain fed agriculture in kanbanyolo, and to recommend among the treatments, one that can significantly influence the yield performance of maize. The research experiment was set up in a Randomized Completely Block Design with four replications. The experimental treatments comprised of starter (60g/20L), Masaka (100ml/20L), Biopower (100ml/20L), NPK100g/20L, starter (120g/20L), starter (180g/20L), Booster (80ml/20L), Biogrow (100ml/20L), and a Control. The data on yield parameters were collected at harvest maturity. Data were summarized in excel and then subjected to Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) using GENSTAT 12th software while the means were separated using least significance differences (LSD), and correlation study 5% confidence. It was observed that application of treatments Masaka, Starter 120g/20L, Biopower, NPK, starter 60g/20L, Starter 180/20L, Biogrow had a significant effect on cob weight (kg), dry weight of 10 cobs (kg) with grain, total grain weight yield of 10 cobs (kg) compared to control except for Booster. Application of treatments showed no significant increase in fresh weight and number of cobs harvested. Booster had no significant effect on yield parameters compared to control. The highest values of yield parameters was in Starter 120 g/20L treatment. Application of treatments had a significant increase in the yield attributes of maize crop in a descending order of Starter 120G/20L, Masaka, NPK, Starter 60g/20L, Biopower, Biogrow, Starter 180/20L. Based on these results, Starter 120g/20L Masaka, Biopower, NPK, starter 60g/20L, Starter 180/20L, and Biogrow should be adopted by most farmers in order to improve yields of the maize crop.
