dc.description.abstractCultural tourism rose due to the needs of people to travel from the places of residence to other places to experience other people’s culture in different countries. This is through experiencing their ways of living, participating in different activities such as tasting the food, community walks, drumming and cultural dances. The study assessed the cultural tourism at Naggalabi hill, Wakiso district. The objectives were (1) to profile the tourist attractions and infrastructure at the hill (2) to assess strategies that should be put in place to market and promote cultural tourism at the hill (3) to examine the challenges likely to be faced when developing cultural tourism at the hill. A sample size of 67 respondents was obtained to collect data using simple random and purposive sampling techniques were used. Observation method was used to capture information that could not be obtained using the above methods. The study found out that Naggalabi hill is a cultural tourism site because of its history of where the kings of Buganda are colonized from. The tourists also participate in activities such as drumming, community walk and storytelling. The government provided facilities such as a constructed road, national water and electricity to the local community. There is also enough security in the area. The study concluded and recommended that the Buganda Heritage Tourism Board, local communities mostly the Baganda should provide funds and market the site for cultural tourism also better facilities like roads, hotels should be constructed to attract more tourists at the site.en_US
