dc.description.abstractThis research study was based on the use of Ganda symbolism and cultural features in textile design materials for Gomesi in Kiyembe between 2000-2020. The purpose of this research study was to investigate and show the beauty of the underlying benefits of applying Ganda symbolism in textile design materials for Gomesi. Further more, the study was based on the following objectives in relation to the study topic; To examine, document and cite written relations about the Ganda and the use of their symbolism in Gomesi. To examine the underlying benefits of Ganda symbolism and cultural features in textile design materials for Gomesi. To compile a report on the magnitude and proposed enhancement of the use of Ganda symbolism and cultural features in the textile design materials for Gomesi. In chapter one, the researcher presented an introductory part of the entire study including detailed information of the background of the research study, statement of the problem, purpose of the research study, the objectives, research questions, significance and the scope of the study. In chapter two, the researcher documented and cited all possible written relations in the literature review by correlating possible literature with the identified objectives. Conclusions were made whereby the researcher cited literature that refuted or supported the current research study and suggested right methods. In chapter three, the researcher presented the methodology of this research study including the research design, research approach, sampling method, data collection method and data analysis method that were used to acquire information for accomplishment of this research. In addition, anticipated limitations were also included that were language barrier, unfavorable climatic conditions, stiff cultural values, resistance from respondents and inadequate income for exchange. In chapter four, the researcher presented the raw facts that were collected from the field. This data was collected using the primary source methods of data collection including one on one x interviews, questionnaire and observation. Data was analyzed using tables and presented in percentages. Finally in chapter five, the researcher discussed the findings that were gathered from the field in the previous chapter in relation to the responses obtained form the respondents. Conclusions were made and finally recommendations that are practical were given which contribute to new knowledge.en_US
