Hygiene is considered one of the leading factors of the noticed recurring infections such as Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus related diseases. As such, this research seeks to explain the link between milk and water hygiene and the spread of bacterial pathogens in Kazo district in western Uganda. The research studied the concentration and the relationship in the level of occurrence of these two common bacterial milk contaminants Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus in the milk and water sources of the same place or farm. The research had 10 participant farms that were evenly divided between two sub-counties of Rwetamu and Burunga in the district of Kazo in Western Uganda. The samples obtained were milk and water samples and they were tested for presence of Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus using differential media and Colony Forming Units(CFU’s) as a counting method. Microscopy was the used for further identification of the bacterial species as a confirmatory technique. The data obtained was analyzed by carrying out a number of tests such as ANOVA, Tukey’s test as well as normality tests.en_US
