dc.description.abstractThis study aimed at designing a Students' records filing and storage system for St. Andrew Kaggwa Gombe High. When school Administrators fail to adhere strictly to effective and accurate records filing and Storage, achievement of effective school management will always be at the crossroads. Similarly, poor and inaccurate records keeping in the school system dwindle and prevent understanding of students‟ track record, real school events and activities. This study therefore, become very imperative with a view to advance remedial steps in the event of poor and inaccurate records filing and storage at St. Andrew Kaggwa Gombe High. The study was based on four objectives i.e. Finding out the Students‟ records managed at St. Andrews Kaggwa Gombe High School, Examining the current filing and storage system used and challenges experienced, Recommending strategies to improve the filing and storage of students‟ records and finally develop a Students‟ records filing and storage system for St. Andrews Kaggwa Gombe High School. The study was based on a case study design and conducted using a qualitative research approach, Data was gathered from a sample of 10 Respondents selected purposively from St. Andrews Kaggwa Gombe High School staff using Interview guide, Observation guide and Document Analysis guide. From the reactions of the respondents, it was revealed that St. Andrews Kaggwa Gombe High School uses a manual filing system in the management of its students‟ records and this is associated with so many problems like shortage of storage space, delayed retrieval of files, Misplacement of files, Deterioration of quality of paper etc. Through various ideal administrative practices and strategies suggested, there will be wholistic improvement in Students‟ records filing and Storage system at St. Andrews Kaggwa Gombe High. In view of these findings, it was recommended that Administrators and teachers should employ ideal administrative practices and strategies as discussed to improve on Students‟ records filing and storage system towards ensuring valid and reliable school information. The Research team used the study results to design a students‟ records filing and storage system that will enhance effectiveness in records management at St. Andrews Kaggwa Gombe High.en_US
