dc.description.abstract | The study explores into the domain of healthcare records management, specifically focusing on the challenges and opportunities for enhancing the system at Mengo Hospital. Amidst the evolving landscape of digital solutions, this research endeavors to shed light on the intricate tapestry of record-keeping within a medical institution. By employing a mixed-methods approach, including interviews, surveys, and observations, the study delves into the current state of record management procedures, uncovering the types of records maintained and the effectiveness of the existing system. The findings reveal the prevailing challenges faced by staff in utilizing the current procedures and highlight the need for a more efficient Records Management System (RMS). The study envisions an ideal RMS that captures, categorizes, and safeguards records while ensuring regulatory compliance. Moreover, the proposed RMS demonstrates its potential to enhance accuracy, accessibility, and security. The research culminates in a comprehensive system design and validation process, wherein the new RMS is evaluated against user expectations and validated for its functionality. The study's outcomes not only contribute to the existing body of knowledge but also offer actionable insights for Mengo Hospital's pursuit of a robust records management system. | en_US |
